This year has been the year of bringing in (relatively) new genetics & high-quality to our herd. In doing this, our main goal is to help enhance our program even more for not only us but our clients as well. And while in the great state of New York this past weekend enjoying the "Showtacular" event that consisted of 3 halter shows and 1 walking fleece event, we found yet another puzzle piece to our genetic infusion project!

But before we want to say a great big THANK YOU to Jeff & Leslie Jorritsma of Autumn Mist Alpaca Farm, Fiber Mill & Petting Farm for releasing this big, beautiful male to us. We could tell just how special he was and we feel very fortunate to now have him standing stud at Red Granite Ranch. 

We are happy to announce that we acquired full interest in AMAF's Top Gun, a beautiful, 18-time Champion, PROVEN male with his first crias due next year! He is of light-medium fawn coloration and has a grey cast to his fleece. He is holding extremely great fleece characteristics for his mature age. Density, Brightness, Uniformity (even in his fading fawn color), fineness, and a soft handling fleece.

Top Gun, or Gunnie as he awas affectionaly known as at his birth farm, brings in a new dimension of grey genetics to us through his sire the late Treasure Valley's Tres Equis (Snowmass XXXtreme x Marca De Plata) and his dam brings back in the very favorable NM Beethoven (Jedi Knight x FK Nevada) genetics that run in many of our multiple champion alpacas, namely: Red Granites Cinnamon, Red Granites Casper, Red Granites Colo Lsere, and Red Granites Party Girl - all Judges' Choice winners to add. His dam, AMAF I Dream of Jeanie is a Judges' Choice winner and 4/5 of her progeny has won a multitude of championships. Her two Judges' Choice winning sons: AMAF The Thunder Rolls & AMAF Baco Noir, are pretty well known and working for the Jorritsmas. Her full-sister is AMAF I Love Lucy, is a 14-time Champion and 5-time Judges' Choice winner, and produced the 2024 AOA National Dark Female Supreme Champion; AMAF Queen Elizabeth. So prepotency is definitely lined throughout this males pedigree, and we feel extremely confident in him already.

Top Gun will be available for outside breedings come the beginning of 2025, be sure to get in touch if he interests you. He is being genotyped.
