Makira is a 2.5 year old white female bred to Red Granites Piston for a 2022 Cria. Makira and Piston pedigree’s are to die for, especially for your future breeding decisions.

Makira has a uniform fine/dense white fleece. She has a high amplitude, high frequency crimp style. Makira is a sound, good size female with no conformation issues. Makira is mild mannered and easy to handle.

Red Granites Piston is sired by the one and only Crescent Moon’s Shiftin Gears. Shiftin, who we co-owned with Crescent Moon, was known for the massive amount of fine white fleece he produced. He held a 14 micron fleece for two years, and in 2021 his fleece tested at 19 microns, impressive. Unfortunately, Shiftin passed away early last year. Piston has a very fine uniform fleece and just like his Dad, a lot of it.

This is our only breeding to Piston for 2022, so we are letting go one of our earliest chances of continuing our Shiftin genetics here at Red Granite Ranch. Both Makira and Piston have Top 5%/Top 1% EPDs in Fleece Weight of Staple Length...
