Description

Porthos is a solid light fawn boy with good bone and nice confirmation. He has a fine fleece with nice brightness and crimp structure. What he lacks is density. He has a nice temperament and is easy to handle. He has Royal Fawn and MFI Peruvian Jericho on his sire's side, and Big Hoss/Felix and Leon on his dam's side. He is a quality animal.

Porthos could be a herdsire for someone starting out, but he will not improve our herd, so we are selling him intact as a fiber production male rather than a breeding male. He appears to be a solid, good sized male like his sire. If he retains his fineness, he will be a nice herdsire for a starting alpaca farm.

His 2017 fleece stats as a 3+ year old male show AFD:23.9 , SD: 5.3 , CV: 22.2 , and 9.1% > 30 micron.
